Jægerspris Castle – royal history and cultural heritage in Zealand
Jægerspris Castle is one of Denmark’s oldest royal residences and houses a museum dedicated to King Frederik VII and Countess Danner. In 1854, the couple moved into the castle, and after the King’s death, Countess Danner opened his rooms as a memorial museum. In 1874, her own study was also preserved as part of the collection. Countess Danner is buried in the castle park.

Originally built in 1875 as part of Jægerspris Hotel, the building was transformed into a cultural centre in 1995 following an extensive renovation led by local citizens.
