Værebro Ådal stretches for 14 kilometres from Ballerup to Roskilde Fjord near Jyllinge Nordmark. The river valley is on the island of Zealand, west of Copenhagen. It contains freshwater meadows, wetlands, lakes and reed beds that provide habitats for a varied range of wildlife and birds.

Find your route and starting point

Explore the area along approximately 20 kilometres of nature trails and wooden boardwalks. The trails take you close to the river, former peat pits and the valley's wetland landscape. Paths may be wet, so suitable footwear is recommended. Check Roskilde Municipality's route maps, starting points and parking options before your visit. You can also open the trail overview map directly.
