Shelter at Julianehøj Forest near Svanholm Estate
Stay overnight in peaceful woodland by Svanholm Estate and wake up surrounded by nature, community spirit and the rolling landscape of Hornsherred in north-west Zealand.
Scenic location by Svanholm Estate
The campsite and shelters are quietly situated in the woodland on the opposite side of Svanholm Allé, just across from the main building of Svanholm Estate near the town of Skibby. Follow the path behind the bust of Bille Brahe to reach the site. Here you stay in calm, green surroundings with direct access to forest trails.
The site connects to one of the marked nature trails leading to Julianehøj, the highest point in Hornsherred – a peninsula between Roskilde Fjord and Isefjord. From the top, you can see as far as Roskilde Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Trail maps are available at the campsite.
Facilities in natural surroundings
There are two small wooden shelters, each accommodating around four people, as well as ample space for tents. Facilities include a covered dining area, two fire pits, a composting toilet and running water. The simple setup offers an authentic outdoor experience while still providing basic comfort.
Access to showers, drinking water and flushing toilets may be arranged by prior agreement. Please note that the campsite area is clearly defined, and guests are kindly asked to respect the private areas of the estate.

Overnight stays in a shelter or tent cost DKK 25 per person per night. Children under the age of 6 stay free of charge. Payment can be made in the estate’s farm shop café or via MobilePay (a widely used Danish mobile payment app) at 79271.
