Runde Rie – Thomas Dambo’s wooden troll by Lynghøjsøerne
Runde Rie sits at the water’s edge by Lynghøjsøerne in Roskilde and invites children and adults to go on a troll hunt in the countryside. The giant wooden troll was created by artist Thomas Dambo, and the short walk to the troll can be combined with exploring the natural surroundings of the lakes.

Runde Rie is one of artist Thomas Dambo’s giant wooden trolls. She was built in 2020 as part of the project Den Store Troldefest (The Great Troll Festival) and has since had her home by Lynghøjsøerne in Roskilde. Here she sits at the water’s edge with a stick and a rope, as if she were fishing in the lake.

Runde Rie by the water’s edge
When Runde Rie comes into view, she sits right beside one of the Lynghøjsøerne lakes. Her position and fishing pose help connect the artwork with the surrounding landscape and give children and adults the chance to experience Thomas Dambo’s art in the middle of nature.
