TAKE THE TRAIN TO

Roskilde Station

Just 25 minutes from Copenhagen, Roskilde is beautifully situated by the Roskilde Fjord. Here you will find history, culture and nature in their full glory – and cosy restaurants where you can enjoy it all.

The history of Roskilde and the surrounding area dates back to the Viking Age and the Middle Ages. The main attractions are the royal tombs and the impressive architecture of Roskilde Cathedral, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Roskilde is also famous for its youth: The RAGNAROCK Museum offers interactive exhibitions on pop, rock and youth culture, while the Viking Ship Museum has active workshops for children. But Roskilde is also a modern town with a pedestrian area for those who like to browse in shops and cafés.

Lejre station

Here you are close to the big city – but far from the hustle and bustle. Explore the halls of the Saga Kings at Lejre Museum, immerse yourself in the everyday life of the Vikings at Sagnlandet Lejre or get lost in the weapon collections at the Weapons Museum at Egholm Castle. And don’t forget to enjoy the fresh country air and green beauty that make Lejre part of Skjoldungernes Land National Park.

Enjoy the peace and quiet on foot along the Skjoldunge trails through pastures and rolling hills, or hop on a mountain bike and feel the exhilaration on the challenging MTB trail in Bidstrup’s forests.

Frederikssund station

Here you can take wonderful boat trips on the fjord, go shopping, see art in the J.F. Willumsen Museum and enjoy Hansen ice cream on the quay. Hornsherred, the picturesque peninsula between the Isefjord and Roskilde Fjord, is also worth a visit.

It lies just outside Frederikssund, on the other side of two bridges – Crown Prince Frederik’s Bridge and Crown Princess Mary’s Bridge. Out here, Frederikssund becomes a village idyll with sights such as Jægerspris Castle, Selsø Castle Museum, Svanholm Organic Farm and the thousand-year-old oaks.

The 4 ferries

If you follow the “Fjordstien” signs, you can cycle around the entire Isefjord on a scenic cycle path linked by four ferries, so you can experience the fjord from both the water and the land.
The ferry in Fjordlandet goes from Kulhuse to Sølager, where you can experience the beautiful nature.
