Lejre Museum
Lejre was a centre of power and a royal seat during the Viking and early Iron Age - not just for one king or for a short time, but for more than 500 years! The area is also known as the home of the first Danish kings, the "Skjoldunger", and the famous heroic poem "Beowulf". In the museum you can admire the many finds and explore the history of Denmark. Willumsen dealt with virtually all forms of art, both painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphics, photography and architecture, and has his own style with his strong and expressive colors and his sense of shapes and story telling. Jægerspris Castle – royal history and cultural heritage in Zealand
Jægerspris Castle is one of Denmark’s oldest royal residences and houses a museum dedicated to King Frederik VII and Countess Danner. In 1854, the couple moved into the castle, and after the King’s death, Countess Danner opened his rooms as a memorial museum. In 1874, her own study was also preserved as part of the collection. Countess Danner is buried in the castle park.
