Fishing at Munkholmbroen

At Munkholmbroen, try fishing for garfish and herring in spring or mackerel in summer. Fishing takes place from the rocky banks beside the bridge, so choose a spot with secure footing and plenty of space between you and other anglers.

Please note: The rocks can be slippery, and children need close supervision here. Check the current fishing protection zones and local rules before setting off.

Fishing at the old railway embankment

The old railway embankment, also known as Tandstumperne, extends into Roskilde Fjord from the Hornsherred side near Frederikssund. You can fish from both sides of the embankment and try your luck with garfish in season.

Please note: The water gets deeper towards the tip, where currents can be strong. For a fishing trip with younger children, we recommend choosing one of the lakes in this guide.

Parking: South of the road leading to the embankment.
