The museum was founded in 1991 as Denmark’s first museum dedicated to contemporary art. It works with the latest forms of expression within both Danish and international contemporary art. The museum exists exclusively in the public urban space as an outreach-oriented, engaging and sustainable institution, operating without permanent walls, always in collaboration with others and without physical or temporal limitations.
