An audio story has been produced for each of Roskilde’s eight historic springs. You can listen to the stories from home or while standing beside each individual spring. Each story lasts 2–4 minutes, is narrated by Danish actor Thure Lindhardt, and takes you back to Roskilde’s past.

Located close to St Gertrude’s Church in the old quarter of the city. The spring dates back to the Middle Ages and was once an important pilgrimage site for medieval travellers seeking healing and spiritual blessing.

Set in scenic surroundings near Roskilde Fjord, a long inlet connected to the sea. The spring is associated with Midsummer (St John’s Eve) traditions and old Danish folk legends.
Located in the historic part of the city near ecclesiastical buildings. A spring of religious significance, surrounded by centuries-old legends.
Found near St Ibs Church overlooking Roskilde Fjord. Here, nature, history and the town’s maritime atmosphere come together.
Situated slightly off the beaten track in peaceful surroundings. A lesser-known spring with local historical importance and its own unique story.
