Løvebakkehus shelter site

Stay overnight in the heart of nature in a small, atmospheric woodland by a stream and experience a shelter site where outdoor living and social commitment go hand in hand.

Sleep close to nature in peaceful surroundings

Løvebakkehus shelter site is quietly located in a small woodland on the left-hand side of Løvebakkevej, surrounded by trees, birdsong and open countryside. Here, you wake up to the sounds of nature and have good chances of spotting both roe deer and a rich variety of birdlife. The nearby stream gives the area a special sense of calm and makes the site ideal for a peaceful break from everyday life. The terrain can be damp during the winter months, underlining the site’s natural and undisturbed character.

Shelters, campfire and simple facilities

The site features two shelters, each accommodating 4–5 people, as well as space to pitch a couple of tents nearby. Facilities include a campfire area with grill, a composting toilet, and waste and compost facilities behind the shelter. Drinking water can be collected at Løvebakkehus, Løvebakkevej 6. Please remember to bring your own firewood. The facilities are simple yet functional and invite classic outdoor living with a focus on presence, community and time spent outdoors.

Stay with care and make a difference

The shelter site is part of Løvebakkehus, which includes a market garden, animals, workshop and farm shop, and forms part of Dankbar Consultants’ services for vulnerable children and young people. By staying here, you also support a place with a social and sustainable purpose. Payment follows the principle “pay what you feel” via MobilePay 6169 0139, and all contributions go towards promoting biodiversity at Løvebakkehus through the planting of trees and bushes.

Booking, consideration and easy access – also without a car

Overnight stays require booking on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are made by contacting Dankbar via manager Randi Tang Nielsen by email: randi@dankbar.dk. Please show consideration for nature, animals and neighbours during your stay. Motorised vehicles are not permitted on the site, and access to animal enclosures is also not allowed.

Parking is available by the barn at Løvebakkevej 6, approximately 200 metres from the shelter site. Vehicles must not be driven onto the grounds. If arriving by train, Viby Sjælland Station is about 2.5 km from the site, with regional train connections between Helsingør and Næstved. The area can also be combined with walking and cycling trips, including the Ice Age Route and National Cycle Route 44 in the surrounding landscape.

Løvebakkehus shelter site is an ideal choice for those seeking simple, nature-based accommodation with meaning, tranquillity and space for reflection.
