Ledreborg Castle was built in 1740 and has remained in the same family for eight generations. Surrounded by woodland and parkland, the estate is still active today, combining farming, forestry and facilities for events.

A glimpse into the past

The castle and park are a notable example of 18th-century architecture and landscape design in Scandinavia. Ledreborg comprises historic buildings, gardens and parkland that have been restored and renewed in keeping with the original Baroque style. Together, they form a distinctive part of Danish cultural history.

The castle houses an extensive collection of paintings and furniture. One of Ledreborg’s most remarkable features – and now something of a rarity in Europe – is that much of the interior still appears much as it did 250 years ago. More than 600 paintings hang closely together on the walls, while furniture, tapestries, figures and other objects remain in the castle’s historic rooms.

Experiences and events

Ledreborg Lifestyle Days

Ledreborg hosts the annual Lifestyle Days, a popular spring fair that has attracted visitors for more than 30 years. Browse stalls offering flowers, decorative arts, food and drink, jewellery, fashion and handicrafts. The event also features guided tours of the castle, live performances, tastings, a children’s area and a dedicated space for four-legged visitors.

Ledreborg also hosts a range of other events, both large and small, including Reborn, dog agility and more. Check the event calendar for current events.

Opening hours

The castle is only open for guided tours. Please see the website for further information. The park is open from 1 May to 31 October, daily from 11 am to 4 pm, for a small fee payable via MobilePay. The park is closed during certain events, so check the event calendar before your visit.

Events large and small

Whether you are planning a conference, a corporate event or a Christmas market, Ledreborg can provide the setting. The castle’s historic rooms and extensive outdoor areas can accommodate events for anything from 15 to 15,000 guests. There is plenty of room – both literally and when it comes to planning.

The historic barn is well suited to meetings and day conferences, while the castle park and courtyard can host larger events with marquees and activities. The combination of historic surroundings and flexible facilities makes Ledreborg suitable for everything from smaller gatherings to large corporate events.
