Roskilde Racer – full speed ahead for the autumn half-term!
Autumn half-term fun with speed and play at Roskilde Museum Discover a side of Roskilde’s history where speed, motor racing and family life come together. Roskilde Racer at Roskilde Museum brings stories from the past to life through activities for children, giving visitors of all ages the chance to explore the city’s motor-racing history.
From Roskilde Ring to racing drivers for a day
Roskilde Ring opened in 1955 and hosted 571 races over 14 seasons. At Roskilde Museum, the Roskilde Racer exhibition tells the story of this former Danish motor-racing circuit, where racing cars, speed and roaring engines became part of Roskilde’s history until the track closed in 1968.
The fun continues in the children’s area. Here, children can imagine being racing drivers, change a wheel during a pit stop and take to the podium after the race. It leaves room for imagination and shared experiences across generations during the autumn half-term.
