At Tadre Mill, life is closely connected to the changing seasons and the surrounding countryside. During the autumn half-term, the focus is on traditional harvest customs, with activities giving the whole family a chance to discover how harvest work was done in days gone by.

Try traditional harvest activities

From 10 to 16 October, families can try their hand at activities such as threshing grain, making straw wreaths and taking part in traditional harvest games.

The apple press will also be in action, and visitors can have their own apples pressed into juice. Please bring at least 5 kg of apples as well as your own bottles for the freshly pressed juice.

Superstition and magical creatures at the mill

On 12, 14 and 16 October, family-friendly guided tours will bring to life stories of superstition and the mysterious creatures that have been associated with life at the mill over the years.

The tours take place from 11.00 am to 11.45 am and must be booked in advance via Billetto.

The Great Baking Day

On 17 and 18 October, Tadre Mill turns its attention to baking with the Great Baking Day. Families can watch and take part in traditional bread-making using old-fashioned methods.
