DCU-Camping Kulhuse - shelters by the Isefjord

Stay in open-fronted wooden shelters in Kulhuse on the Hornsherred peninsula, west of Copenhagen, surrounded by scenic nature by the Isefjord, where tall pine trees, gently hilly terrain and sandy beaches create the setting for a simple and atmospheric outdoor experience.

Shelters in peaceful surroundings

DCU Kulhuse Camping offers two shelters accommodating 4 and 6 people respectively. The shelters are quietly located in a corner of the campsite, surrounded by nature and close to water, walking routes and outdoor activities. The campsite’s own sandy beach on the Isefjord is less than 200 metres away.

Booking and practical information

The campsite opens seasonally. Check the current season on the campsite website.
Overnight stays in the shelters must be booked in advance. They are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
To book a shelter, please contact the campsite reception by email or phone.

Walking and cycling routes nearby

The Fjord Trail (Regional Route 40), suitable for both walkers and cyclists, runs approximately 600 metres from the shelters along Kulhusevej/Skansevej to the east. A branch of the route passes just south of the campsite via Løjerthusvej/Strandvej and continues along the Isefjord - ideal for both short and longer trips.

Fjord life and activities on the water

The Isefjord offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities. Canoes and kayaks can land at the campsite’s beach around 200 metres from the shelters.

Sailors can visit Kulhuse Marina, located about 800 metres away, which offers a limited number of guest berths and is part of Denmark’s Free Harbour scheme.

There are good swimming opportunities both at the campsite’s beach and at the public Blue Flag beach in Kulhuse, around 500 metres to the north. Fishing is popular from the eastern pier at Kulhuse Marina, where species such as flounder and plaice are commonly caught.
